Wilma (Eddy) Brand, 95 of Morgantown West Virginia, formerly of Masontown, Pa., passed away peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2016, at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, WV.

She was born January 14, 1921 in Mannington, WV, daughter of the late J. W. "Sam" and Haidee Eddy. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, J. Samuel Brand in 1999, and a sister, Kathleen Blue.

Wilma was a graduate of Blacksville High School, and the Bernotat Beauty Academy, Clarksburg, WV. Wilma and her husband Sam owned and operated Masontown Hardware in Masontown for many years. She was a devoted member of Masontown Methodist Church, and United Methodist women for 22 years.

Active in the Masontown community over the years, Wilma was a member and Past President of the Masontown Garden Club, Past President of the VFW Post 4584 Auxiliary, member of the American Legion Post 423 Ladies Auxiliary, member of Friends of the German-Masontown Public Library, member of the New Ideas Club and the Friendship Hill Association, and member and Chairman of the Masontown Quilting Club of the United Methodist Church for 15 years.

Wilma moved to Morgantown, West Virginia after 33 years, and became an affiliate member of the Suncrest United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Jacobs Summer Circle, and Quilting Group. She had also been a member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Manikas and husband William "Bill"; and Deborah Wamsley and husband David "Chip"; a granddaughter, Susan Manikas; and a sister, Juanita Shay.

In accordance with her wishes, private graveside services will be held by her family at Jacobs Lutheran Cemetery, Masontown, Pa. Arrangements are under the direction of at the Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 515 N. Main St., Masontown, PA.
