William James "Bill" Mankovich, age 72 of Uniontown, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 5, 2015. He passed quietly at the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born on April 20, 1944 in Youngstown Pa., son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Coburn) Mankovich. His parents, and one brother Joseph Jr., preceded him in death.
Bill graduated from North Union High School and served in the United States Army Reserve. He was a member of Brownfield United Methodist Church; and also attended St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown.
For 28 years, Bill was a devoted employee of the Laurel Highlands School District, ending his career as head custodian at Hatfield Elementary. He was loved by the students, parents and faculty.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth (Costolo) Mankovich; brothers, John Mankovich and wife Elaine, Patrick Mankovich; and sister-in-law Ruth Ann Mankovich; step children, Darla Collins Goodwin and husband Bob, Marylou Collins Hunchuck, Patrick Collins and wife Colleen; nephews, Joseph P. Mankovich III, Timothy Mankovich and wife Peggy; niece, Lisa Mankovich Flenniken and husband Bill; niece, Debra Hixon Mankovich; and several great nieces, great nephews and grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Sunday, November 8, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m.
A Blessing Service will be held at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel on Monday, November 9, 2015, with Rev. Father James W. Clark officiating
Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
