Obituary

William Joseph Holchin (Bill), age 62, died Tuesday August 23, 2016 at his home.

Bill was born on May 20, 1954 in Uniontown, the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Holchin.

He was a member of St. Stephen Byzantine Catholic Church; Leisenring, Pa. Bill was a 1972 graduate of Uniontown Area High School.

Bill was a self made man who loved to farm and build, he was the owner of Holchin Farms LLC, he was a proud farmer who raised Angus beef cattle, corn, soybeans and hay. Bill loved spending time with his grandchildren and was also a member of the Fayette County Cattleman's Association and cofounder of the Keystone Farmers Cooperative Association. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and received an award in 2006 for Soil Conservation Farmer of the Year.

He is survived by his loving family: His wife of 39 years, Patty (Ferens) Holchin, his beloved children, William J. Holchin and his wife Logan of Dunbar, Pa., Jennifer Poole and her husband Eric of Mt. Pleasant, Pa., and Chrissy Holchin of Uniontown, Pa. and five beautiful grandchildren, Taylor Holchin, Jacob, Breann, Audrey, Landon Poole, Bill is also survived by his sister Barb Kauneckas and her husband Pete of Va., Robert Holchin of Uniontown, Richard Holchin and his wife Debbie of Dunbar, Gayle Green of Delaware and Jeff Holchin and his wife Diane of North Carolina, his god children Maggie Lineberry, Jamie Holchin and Nicole Walkos and several loving aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. Friday August 26, 2016 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. and on Saturday August 27, 2016 until 10:30 a.m. when the Panachida will be held in the funeral home chapel.

A Divine Liturgy will follow in St. Stephen Byzantine Catholic Church, 3120 West Crawford Ave, Connellsville (Leisenring), Pa., at 11 a.m. with Father Oleh Seremchuk as Celebrant.

Interment will private.
