William J. "Bill" Grimes, age 72, of Uniontown, passed away at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA., on Saturday, June 15, 2013. He was born on May 29, 1941 in Uniontown, son of Eugene and Anne (Bogal) Grimes. His parents, and sister Pamela K. Grimes preceded him in death.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, PA, and was a retired steelworker.
Bill was an avid sportsman and loved boating, fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. He looked forward to teaching his grandchildren how to water-ski this summer on the new ski boat he has just bought for that purpose. He was loved by many, as much as he loved everyone.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 48 years, Loretta M. (Grote) Grimes; three sons, William A. "Billy" Grimes and wife Vera of Farmington, PA; Christopher J. Grimes and wife Melissa "Missy" of West Lake, OH; and Timothy J. Grimes and wife Jeanne of Fairchance, PA; seven grandchildren, Valerie and Dalton Grimes; Tristan, Hunter, and Hope Grimes; and Nina and Milo Grimes; two sisters, Darlene G. Grimes of Uniontown, PA; and Eileen A. Cottom and husband Donald of Fairchance, PA; and many loving brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, today (Tuesday) June 18, from 2 - 8 p.m.; and on Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 50 Jefferson St., Uniontown, PA with Rev. Father James D. Tringhese as Celebrant.
Interment will be private, at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
The Parish Wake Service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
