William D. Abbott, 67, of Martin, Pa., passed away on Friday March 25, 2016.

He was born May 10, 1948 in Martin, Pa., a son of Edward and Amelia (Arndt) Abbott.

William was a retired from Vesta 5 coal mine, and later retired as CO at SCI Fayette and Infinity Trucking. Bill was a member of the Fort Mason American Legion Post 423, Brownsville Young Men's Club and the Brownsville Sportsmen's Club

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jack Arndt.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Rita (Fasshauer) Abbott, children Edward William Abbott and his wife Tina, Cheryl Shine, three step children Christine Honaker, Richard Rosgony, Tina Stinger and her husband Emil, grandchildren Will and Zach Abbott, Sasha Lemley, Courtney and Alex Shine, Martin Thomas, Sarah Gleason and Glenn Honaker, Eric, Jordan, Dylan and Lucas Stinger, and Ryan Cross, 6 great grandchildren, a very very dear friend Carl Toye and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC. 515 North Main Street, Masontown, PA 15461 on Thursday March 31, 2016 from 7-9 pm and on Friday April 1, 2016 from 12-2 pm the hour of service.

Entombment will be privately held in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
