Wilfred A. Gaudiano of Hopwood, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. He was born on March 13, 1918 in Edenborn. Wilfred was affectionately known as "Fuzzy" by his family and friends.

Wilfred was the last surviving member of his immediate family, preceded in death by his parents, Sabato and Josephine (Gismondi) Gaudiano, four brothers, two sisters, and a special nephew Ronald Gaudiano.

Wilfred proudly served his country during WWII with the United States Army in the European Theater of Operations. For 64 years Wilfred had been a devoted member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, and one of the eldest members of the parish.

Following his retirement with US Steel Corp. he worked for the Pittsburgh Pirates for 6 years at Spring Training Camp in Bradenton, FL. He was a member of UMWA District 2, Life member George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 Hopwood, VFW, and Hutchinson Sportsmen's Club.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 62 years, Marian E. (Banas) Gaudiano; a daughter, Karen Polito and husband Pete of Uniontown, PA; a son, Mark Gaudiano of Hopwood, PA; a sister-in-law, Ruth Gaudiano of Mt. Pleasant, PA; a brother-in-law, Donald Banas and wife Shirley of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, Friday, January 18, from 4-7 p.m.; and on Saturday, January 19, until 10:45 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday in St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, PA, with Monsignor Michael W. Matusak as Celebrant.

Interment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by AMVETS Post 103.

The Parish Wake Service will be held on Friday at 4 p.m.
St. Therese Altar Society will recite the Rosary following the Parish Wake Service.
