W. David Kerr, 69, of Uniontown, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, May 1, 2015. He was born on June 2, 1945 son of the late William Ernst Kerr and Ann (Thomas) Kerr of Oakmont, PA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, John A. Kerr of Lighthouse Point, FL.

David was a devoted husband to his wife of 27 years, Carol (Lally) Kerr, and a loving father to their children, Charles and Kelsey.

He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Patricia Dawson of New Jersey; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kathryn Dawson, and Susan Yeager, of New Jersey, Jack Lally and wife Margaret of Connecticut, Robert Lally and wife Debbie, and Patrick Lally and wife Kaaren, of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews.

David was a partner in Kerr, Mogg, and Koehner in the Northside Pittsburgh. He also worked as Ranch Manager at Nemacolin Woodlands, Sales Representative for Permacote Industries, and was the Co-founder of Specialty Conduit, Mt. Braddock. He was active in many organizations, such as the Duquesne Club, Uniontown Country Club, where he was the Co-Chair of the Annual Pro Am, member of the Nemacolin Woodlands 400 Club, Pittsburgh Ramblers, Beaver Creek Anglers, Pike Run Country Club, and member and Vice-Chairman of the Community Foundation of Fayette County.

During high school, David excelled in sports, lettering in Basketball, Football, and Track. As a junior in high school he beat the long standing record in the 180 low hurdles, and did exceptionally well in the half-mile and mile relays. In his senior year he took second in the state hurdles. He was offered football scholarships to Oklahoma State University, University of Chattanooga, and the University of Virginia. He attended the University of Virginia, and Duquesne University. During the Vietnam War he served his country in the United States Navy.

David was an avid sportsman, loved the outdoors, and loved to travel. He was an avid fisherman including deep sea and fly-fishing. He also loved shotgun sports. Although he started relatively late in life skiing and golf were also his passions.
He was a generous and compassionate man, who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Monday, May 4, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; and on Tuesday, May 5, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the Hour of Service, with Pastor Lee Maley Officiating.
