Violet J. "Vi" (Cumberland) Smalley, 80, of Gates, PA, passed away peacefully in her home, Monday, August 31, 2015, with her loving family by her side. She was born, April 6, 1935, in Gates, PA, a daughter of the late Thomas and Dora Cumberland.

In addition to her parents, Vi was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Otho A. Smalley; her precious granddaughter, Belinda Whoolery; sisters, Lorraine, Winifred, Thelma, Stella, and Lenora; and her loving son-in-law, Adrian "Buzz" Santella.

Vi was a member of the High House Church of God. She worked most of her life as a wonderful homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory, are her children, Ralph Smalley, Patricia Lewis and her husband Kenneth, Otho Smalley and his wife Barbara, Debbie Jordan and her husband John, Marie Santella, Brenda Whoolery and her husband Wayne, Susan Large and her husband Larry, Tom Smalley and his wife Ruth, Floyd Smalley, Cathy Franks and her husband Dan, and Shirley Townsend Smalley; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Haky Funeral Home Inc., 515 North Main Street, Masontown, PA, on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, September 3, from 11 a.m. - 12 Noon, The Hour of Service, with her nephew, Pastor Bob Warnick Officiating.

Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
