Veronica "Rosalie" Tomko, age 75, a lifelong resident of Smock, PA, passed away on Wednesday May 22, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 1, 1938 in Smock, PA, to Charles E. Peskie, Sr. and Mary Eleanor (Turosak) Peskie. Her parents, and a sister, Dolores Marie (Peskie) Kubitsky preceded her in death.

Rosalie was a member of St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church and was also a member of the Church Choir along with her husband. She had been a member and Treasurer of the Smock VFD Ladies Auxiliary, St. Hedwig Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and was active in the Smock Historical Society, and many community activities. In earlier years she was employed with Reliable Transfer and also the Harper's Accounting Firm at Second National Bank.

In 1960, she married and devoted her life to her family. Rosalie and Francis "Lefty" Tomko would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on August 6, 2013. She was, and will always remain the love of his life forever.

She is survived by her husband, Francis "Lefty" Tomko, their son, Jeffrey Francis Tomko of Maryland, a granddaughter, Jessica Sue Tomko of Maryland, a brother, Charles "Chuck" E. Peskie, Jr. of Smock, PA, and many nieces and nephews and their families.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 10 AM in St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, Smock, PA, with Rev. Father James F. Petrovsky as Celebrant.

Inurnment will follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Smock, PA.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Smock Volunteer Fire Department, 125 Shaffer Ave., Smock, PA, 15480 in lieu of flowers.
