Valentine F. "Val" Ostrosky, Jr., 63, of Lemont Furnace, PA, went to his eternal reward Thursday, March 27, in The Year of Our Lord 2014 at Uniontown Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Born on July 26, 1950 in Buffington, PA, he was the son of Valentine and Elizabeth (Hartosh) Ostrosky, both of whom preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death are his sisters, Shirley Miller and her husband David, and Bernice Ostrosky. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

A devout Catholic, he was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church Uniontown, PA. He was also a member of the United Mine Workers of America District 2, Local 2300, Cumberland Mine, and was a 1969 graduate of Uniontown High School.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 38 years, Carole (Hanzes) Ostrosky, son, Stephen V. Ostrosky of Gaithersburg, MD, daughter, Stephanie Satovich and husband Ryan of Uniontown, PA, son, Michael A. Ostrosky and wife Eleree of Uniontown, PA ,and one cherished grandson, Charlie Fronczek, who brought him much joy. Also surviving him are many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, nephews, nieces and his many friends.

A special thanks to his caregiver E. Kathy Smith and long-time family friend and nurse Kathy Berdar for their compassion and care.

Visitation will be private at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA.

The Funeral Mass for family and friends will be held on Monday March 31, 2014 at 12 Noon at St. Mary (Nativity) Catholic Church, with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti as celebrant.

Entombment will be private.
