Thomas D. " Tom" Szerensci, age 72 of Masontown, PA, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 6, 2015. He was born in Grays Landing, PA on October 15, 1942, a son of Alex Szerensci, Jr. and Susan (Martin) Szerensci. His parents, and his sister Elizabeth Ann "Sissy" Helt preceded him in death.
Tom was a retired Coal Miner and member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was a certified electrician and also Fire Boss during his many years with the Cumberland and Emerald Mines. Tom was an active member of the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, Carmichaels, PA, and member of the Pals Social Club, Masontown, PA.
Tom loved football, and was a great fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers Football and Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Teams. He was a devoted husband, loving father and proud grandfather and great-grandfather. His family was truly the center of his life.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Sandra Lee "Sandy" (Brumley) Szerensci; their children, Terri (Szerensci) Fulton and husband Greg of Grays Landing, PA, Kim (Szerensci) Jesso and husband Jan of Masontown, PA, and Bryan Thomas Szerensci and wife Nicole of Masontown, PA; six grandchildren, Lauren Norman Chapman, Mandee (Jesso) Smith, Kyle Norman, Tanner Jesso, Joshua Szerensci, and Maddie Jo Szerensci; two great-grandsons, Braeden Chapman and Dalton Chapman; three brothers, David "Sonny" Szerensci and wife Ellen (Bokosh) Szerensci of Hinckley, OH, Raymond "Bunny" Szerensci and wife Marlene of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and Michael "Mickey" Szerensci of New Salem, PA; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, RR 21, Carmichaels, PA., with Mark Howard Officiating
