Thomas J. Nypaver Jr., 59 of Uniontown, PA passed away Tuesday, September 10th, 2013. Thomas was born on March 25th, 1954 in Uniontown, the son of Thomas (deceased) and Helen (Almasi) Nypaver. A devoted and loving son, Thomas is survived by his dear brother Terence (Dolores) of Pittsburgh, and dear brother Timothy (Michele) of Northville, MI. Also a fond and loving uncle of Christina and Neil Nypaver (Northville, MI). He is also survived by many cherished aunts, uncles and cousins.
Early on, Tom attended St Mary's elementary school and graduated from Laurel Highlands High School, Class of 1971. Tom then completed a BSEE degree from West Virginia University, and over his career, worked for the United States Steel Corp., General Electric, and Alstom, often at international sites. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and golfing and counted many friends amongst those who shared his passion. Tom was a member of the Knights of Columbus and his life was focused and revolved around his family, friends, and his belief and relationship with God.
Visitation will be held at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA. on Friday, September 13th from 1 PM to 8 PM; and on Saturday, September 14th from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 AM at St. Mary (Nativity) Catholic Church, 61 N. Mount Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti as Main Celebrant.
Interment will be at Mount St. Macrina Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends Memorial Donations to St. Mary (Nativity) Catholic Church or a selected charity of their choice.
The Parish Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 3:30 PM.
