Obituary

Thomas A. Carney, 83 of Tampa, Florida, died on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at St.Joseph's Hospital, Tampa. He was born on May 18, 1935 in Uniontown, Pa., son of the lateAndrew and Carolyn Carney.

Tom Carney was a graduate of Emory University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He and his former wife Glenda raised their family in Upper St. Clair, PA and were active members of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. He spent the majority of his career in management for National Steel Corporation.

Tom is survived by his daughter Marian "Missy" Nabors (Eric) and his son Thomas Jr. "Tucker" (Erin), grand-children Christopher and William Nabors, Finnian, Maeve and Rowan Carney and his partner of 25 years Polly Smith Nelson.  Tom will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, compassionate nature, love of travel, golf and the companionship of great dogs, but most of all for his devotion to his family and many dear friends.

A private memorial service will be held on December 1 st , 2018  at  1 PM in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral

Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa., with Pastor Don Henderson officiating.

Friends are invited to join the family at the home of Marian Nabors, 61 Youngwood Road  Mt. Lebanon, PA from 5-7 PM on Saturday December 1st.  An additional memorial service will be held in Tampa, Florida at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Light of Life Rescue Mission, Pittsburgh, Pa.
