Steven R. 'Pap' Martinko Sr., 79, passed away, due to a lengthy battle with COPD, on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, with his loving family by his side. He was born March 23, 1936, in Edenborn, PA, a son of the late Michael and Julia (Koza) Martinko.
In addition to his parents Pap was preceded in death by several of his brothers and sisters.
He belonged to St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, PA.
Left to cherish his memory, are his loving wife, of nearly 57 years, Vi M. (King) Martinko; children, Julie Ann Cappellini (Alan), Steve Martinko Jr. (Bekki), Cynthia Martinko (Art), and Monica Martinko- Volpe; grandchildren, Gregory Martinko, Steven Martinko, and Jarred, Jaid, and Jace Cappellini; siblings, Helen Martinko, Mike Martinko, Ed Martinko, Mary Edwards, Bill Martinko, Christine Shiring; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Haky Funeral Home Inc. 515 N. Main Street, Masontown, PA., on Monday, January 25, from 2-9 p.m. and Tuesday, January 26, until 12:30 p.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow in St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Parish, 101 West Church Avenue, Masontown, PA, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Father William G. Berkey as Celebrant.
