Mrs. Stella R. Evans, 83, of Uniontown, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at her home.

She was born in Lambert, PA on June 15, 1941 to the late Stanley Raymond Shiner, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Kubitza Shiner.

Stella graduated from German Township High School.

She married Mr. John Evans, they were married for fifty-three years before his passing on November 14, 2013.

Stella worked for General Electric in Ohio as an inspector and for Reuter Stokes as a coordinator.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi parish (St. Thomas Church of Footedale).

She loved dogs, especially her dogs, Hoss, Max, and Holly.  Stella's greatest accomplishment was that she traveled to all fifty states with her husband John.  She loved spending time with friends and family, to travel, and enjoyed going to casinos in the area.

She is survived by her brother, Anthony Shiner of Uniontown; a sister-in-law, Shirley Haragos Nelson of California; a brother-in-law, Paul Evans and wife Trudy of Uniontown; numerous nieces and nephews; a longtime friend, Nancy; and special friend, Melissa and her children, who called Stella, Grandma.

Stella was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley R. Shiner, Jr.; two sister-in-laws, Anna Shiner and Veronica (Evans) Yeagley; two brother-in-laws, Jospeh G. Evans and Rudy Evans.

Viewing for Stella will be held at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401 on Thursday, September 5 from 5 to 8 PM. The funeral blessing service will on Friday, September 6 at 10 AM at the funeral home.

Interment is in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
