Stanley Raymond Shiner, Jr., age 71, of Uniontown, PA, was called to be with God, on Sunday, March 1, 2015.

He was born on August 14, 1943 in Lambert, Pa., a son of the late Stanley and Mary (Kubitza) Shiner.

He was a member of St. Mary's (Nativity) Catholic Church. He started his working life as a gas station attendant, an occupation which led him to meet his future wife. He served in the United States Army, worked in the tire and coal industries before owning his own business. He loved attending auctions and travelling with his wife. He was always involved in his children's activities, from building musical sets to doing playground duty to being Scoutmaster of his son's Boy Scout Troop. He also helped greatly in building all of his children's homes and gave freely and generously of his time and numerous talents to anyone that was in need. His dedication to his family and his unique no nonsense character will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law John Evans, and he joins his loving wife of forty-six years Anna Louise (Wilkovich) Shiner.

He will never be forgotten as his memories will be carried on by all those that survive him. Left to cherish his memory are his children; Kathryn Mihalko and husband David, Karen McDaniel, and husband Scott, Stanley R Shiner III and wife Carrie, Stephen Shiner and wife Darcy, his grandchildren in whom he took great pride and always loved to attend their school and sporting events, David Mihalko Jr., Daniel Stanley Mihalko, Timothy Mihalko and Rebecca Mihalko. He is also survived by his loving brother, Anthony Shiner, Sister, Stella Evans, and sisters-in-law Sue Sickles, Diane Decker and brothers-in-law Steve Wilkovich, Dan Wilkovich, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and an extended family of in-laws.

He is already missed by his furry bedside companions Rusty and Gracie and loving grand dogs.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc. 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa. Wednesday March 4, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., and on Thursday March 5, 2015 until 9:30 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Peter Peretti as Celebrant.

A Parish Wake Service will be held Wednesday at 3 PM.

Interment will follow in St Mary Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
