Sophia Kauchuk, age 92, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 19, 2010 at Lafayette Manor Nursing Home, Uniontown, PA.

She was born on January 27, 1918 in Oliver #3, PA, daughter of Michael and Mary (Vukasovich) Kauchuk.

Her Parents; Brothers, Michael, Nicholas, Joseph, and John Kauchuk; and Sisters, Anna Kauchuk Zaksek, and Mary Kauchuk her in death. Mary, who died recently on September 6, was not only her sister but also her "best friend".

Left to cherish her memory are many loving Nieces and Nephews.

Sophia was a member of Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Uniontown, PA. For many years she was a stenographer and clerical administrator for the government, and had been employed with the 911th Air Force Reserve Base in Moon Township, Secretary of Base Commander Col. Robin Olds, Executive Secretary of Civil Engineers and Civilian Personnel. After retirement she also worked at DeFazio Insurance Company.

Affectionately known to her family as "Aunt Do Do", she devoted her time to her family, especially in the care of her brothers and sisters. She loved crafts, and lovingly created many beautiful keepsakes, perfect in every way.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Sunday 2-9 p.m.; and on Monday, November 22, 2010 until 10 a.m. when the Panachida Service will be held.

A Divine Liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. in Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father Ronald P. Larko as Celebrant.

Entombment will be held in Mount Macrina Cemetery Mausoleum.

The Parastas Service will be held on Sunday evening at 8 p.m.
