Shirley M. McManus, age 75, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Masontown, PA on September 8, 1935, daughter of Warren and Bessie (Kresont) Hughes.

Shirley worked for Concord Health Care Center, and was also a sales clerk at a number of department stores in Toledo. Shirley was also a member of the Church of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, and an Eastern Star for Triune Chapter No. 344.

Surviving is her husband, George McManus, daughters, Deborah Phelps, and Kimberly Sue (Wayne) VanPelt, 4 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 6 great grandchildren, a sister, Marie Smargie, and a brother, Issac "Zeke" Hughes. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 515 N. Main St., Masontown, PA, today, Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; and on Thursday, May 19, 2011 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the Hour of Service, with Pastor Robert Stein Officiating.

Interment will follow in the Masontown Cemetery.
