Shirley Ann Balas (Mclaughlin)'s Obituary
Shirley Ann Balas, 78, of Smithfield, PA, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 in the Cloverdale Personal Care Home, Masontown, PA. She was born December 24, 1935 in Wharton, PA daughter of the late William "Bill" Mclaughlin and Pearl (Dunham) Mclaughlin.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Mclaughlin.
Shirley was a member of the Glendale Baptist Church and worked most of her life as a homemaker. She loved animals especially her beloved pets.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 43 years, Charles E. Balas; brother, Don Mclaughlin; sister, Valetta Goodwin; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Friends will be received in the Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 515 N. Main St., Masontown, PA on Friday, December 12, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. and Saturday, December 13, until 9 A.M. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at the St. Francis of Asisi Parish, 101 South Washington St. Masontown, PA, at 9:30 A.M. with Rev. Father William G. Berkey as Celebrant.
Interment will be held Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Mary Cemetery, Leckrone, PA.
