Sara Jane Shipley, 87, of Lemont Furnace, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the Gathering Place Personal Care Home.
She was born in Fayette City, PA on April 5, 1936 to the late Edward and Martha Robbins.
Sara married Gerald W. Shipley in Virginia in June of 1968.  He preceded her in death on January 23, 1993.
She was a cashier at many local stores, most recent being Bon-Ton and Nickman's Drug Store.
Sara was past President of the Ladies Auxillary VFW Post 8543 of Uniontown.
She enjoyed going to a monthly gathering with her high school classmates.
Sara is survived by her niece, Dianna Koon of Hiller, PA; a nephew, Richard Robbins, II; two great nieces, Michelle and Tiffany and families; a great great niece, Gina Koon and family; and a great great nephew, James Koon, III.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Robbins.
Friends and family may call at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401, on Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 5 to 7 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 11 AM with Pastor Leonard Herod of the Hallam Lighthouse Mission.
Interment will be in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
