Ruth A. (Veshinsky) McCombie, 89, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Lafayette Manor Nursing Home. She was born on September 22, 1924 in Grindstone, PA, daughter of the late William A. and Margaret C. (Mauser) Veshinsky.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. McCombie, Sr. on March 7, 2000, a daughter, Carol Lynn DeMao, a daughter-in-law, Penny McCombie, and five brothers and sisters, Eleanor Veshinsky, Robert Veshinsky, Fritz Veshinsky, Albert Veshinsky, and Helen Marie Fasulkey.

Ruth was a wonderful homemaker, fantastic cook and baker. She was a graduate of North Union High School Class of 1943.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert McCombie, Jr. and wife Ruth of Uniontown, PA, William McCombie and fianc Linda of Connellsville, PA, Valerie Tennant and husband Lee, and Shelly McCombie and friend Debbie all of Uniontown, PA, son-in-law, Jeff DeMao of Greensburg, PA; her grandchildren, Robert III. and wife Lona, William, Bruce and wife Tara, Erin and husband Doug, Wendy and husband Mike, Christiane and husband Louis, David, and Holly and husband Christopher; great grandchildren, Ian, Jonathan, Maddie, Willie, Louis, Harper, Dougie, and Kaylee; her brothers and sisters, Charles Veshinsky of Indiana, PA, Virginia Lechnar, and Betty Hickman both of Uniontown, PA, Catherine Matthias of Connellsville, PA, and Patty Kephart of Salem, OH, and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA, today (Friday), March 21, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.; and on Saturday, March 22, until 12 p.m.

A Blessing Service will be held at 12 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Father James W. Clark Officiating.

Interment will be privately held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
