Rudolph L. Kolencik, 87, of Perryopolis, PA, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015, at Mount Saint Macrina Manor, Uniontown PA. He was born on January 15, 1928 in Smock, PA, son of the late John and Julia (Laschok) Kolencik.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Emily A. (Lee) Kolencik on May 25, 2015, a sister Eleanor Kolencik, and four brothers, John, Robert, Frank, and Joseph Kolencik.

During WWII he proudly served his country with the United States Army at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He retired from Fisher Body Plant in West Mifflin where he was a Tool and Die maker, and was a member of the UAW Union of America.

Rudy was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church of Perryopolis, Slovak Catholic Sokol in Smock, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7023 Perryopolis, and in earlier years, a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree. He was a devoted family man, fluent in Slovak, and avid sports fan, following the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and the NY Yankees. He will be deeply missed by his family with whom he shared his love of travel and adventure in the Rocky Mountains and the Grand Canyon, with many wonderful memories.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Rudolph S. Kolencik of Greensburg, PA, Francis A. Kolencik of Perryopolis, PA, Mary Kolencik of Jessup, MD, and Julie Ziring and husband Neal of Columbia, MD; three grandchildren, Lindsay Bolt and husband Josiah, Stephanie Moats and husband Burt, Nicholas Kolencik and wife Nicole; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Drass, Christian Whetsel, and Kimber Moats; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Tuesday, June 30, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 1, at 12 p.m. in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Parish, Perryopolis, PA, with Father Anthony W. Ditto as Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Mount Saint Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, PA, where military honors will be accorded by VFW Post 7023.
