Rose M. (Giachetti) Sopkovec, age 107, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2019. She was born in Dunbar, Pa., on September 18, 1911, daughter of Pasquale and Carmella (Delrusso) Giachetti.

As the last member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl Sopkovec, and siblings, John Giachetti, Nicholas Giachetti, Patsy Giachetti, Jerry Giachetti, Carmen Giachetti, Fred Giachetti, Helen Fortugna Faverio, and Lou Giachetti, Sr.

Rose was a lifelong member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church of Uniontown. She worked as a waitress for many years, and retired from Uniontown Area School District where she worked in the cafeteria.

She is survived by her special nephew who cared for her for many years, Vince Giachetti and his wife Pam of Uniontown; and many nieces, nephews and their families.

We, the family wish to thank Uniontown Health Care and Rehabilitation staff for their excellent care, and also the staff of Senior Life.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa. on Sunday, April 14, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.; and Monday, April 15, until 9:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, Pa. Interment will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.

The Parish Wake Service will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
