Rose Ellen (Smith) Ritenour Gazy, age 74, of Upper Oliver # 3, passed away peacefully at home, on Monday, June 20, 2011, with her loving family at her side.

She was born on December 13, 1936 in Big Brownfield, PA, daughter of Edward Smith and Mary Alma (Youler) Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her first husband Charles E. Ritenour.

Rose was a Cake Decorator for over 28 years before retirement, and had worked for Barbara Joyce Bakery and Judy Jean Bakery. She was a graduate of North Union High School Class of 1955, and a member of the Harbor of Light Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 40 years, William V. Gazy; her son, Ed Ritenour and wife Kim of Upper Oliver #3; daughters, Darla Myers and husband John of Uniontown, PA; and Stacie Collins and husband Wesley of Uniontown, PA; 7 grandchildren, Loran, John, Jessica, Brandy, Kara, Kristi, and Ricky; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Janet Schwarz, Bobbie Powers, Ruth Jacobs, and Twila Conticelli; and a brother, Robert Smith.

Heartfelt thanks to the Albert Gallatin/Medisys Hospice nurses and staff for their wonderful care and compassion.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc. 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext. Uniontown, PA 15401 on Wednesday, June 22, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, and on Thursday, June 23, from 10:30 until 11:30 AM, the Hour of Service with Rev. Paul Lesher Officiating.

Interment will be privately held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
