Mrs. Roaslie Koast Marra, 86, of Uniontown, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 4, 1940 to the late Charles and Anna Petrosky Koast.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alex “Junior” Marra; daughter, Denise; sisters, Betty Ann Brown and Kathy Workman; and a brother, Robert Koast.
Rosalie is survived by ber her son, Alex “Buddy” Marra and wife Colleen; her precious grandchildren, Santino and Mareesa; and Joey Lemansky who was like a grandson to her.
Rosalie was a devoted member of St. Therese Church. Where she rarely missed a service and formed many lifelong connections while practicing her faith.
Rosalie was a proud graduate of Mapletown High School. She then worked at the Uniontown Hospital where she worked in the laboratory as a phlebotomist. She truly loved her career, taking pride in helping others and bringing comfort to those who were often anxious or afraid. Her kindness, compassion, and gentle nature made a lasting impression on everyone she cared for.
She was known to many a “Nunnie” or “Ro”; names spoken with love by family and friends. Nunnie was truly one of a kind, kind-hearted, generous, and full of warmth. She has a way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for; her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her. She will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and the lasting impact she made on so many lives.
She had a love for life and enjoyed many simple pleasures. She loved gambling and the excitement it brought, she also enjoyed playing bingo, a pastime that gave her both joy and sense of community. She often looked forward to going out to breakfast with her friends, sharing laughter and good conversation. Her greatest happiness, however, was found in her family. She took immense pride in watching her son and grandson play baseball and found pure joy in seeing her granddaughter dance and cheerlead. These were the moments that she treasured most. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Visitation for Rosalie will be held at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401 on Tuesday, May 5th from 3 to 8 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Therese Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, PA 15401 on Wednesday, May 6th at 11 AM, with prayers of transfer at the funeral home at 10:15 AM.
Interment is Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
