Ronald W. Nixon, 72, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2017, in the Uniontown Hospital where he was also born on September 1, 1944.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Nixon; his brothers, Bill Nixon and Larry Nixon; and his sister, Connie Bell.
Ron served his country proudly in the United States Army from May 1966 to April 1968 as a Specialist 5 Mechanic, over seas, in Germany.
Ron lived in Ohio for 32 years and worked at Chrysler in Solon, OH for 27 years. He spent the last several years back in his hometown of Uniontown, PA.
He was an active member of the Moose Club since 1998. Ron loved the mountains, fishing and hunting, golfing, and was an avid Steelers fan.
Left to cherish his memory, are his children, David Nixon and Susan Pitts and husband Mike; grandchildren, Jessica, Josie, and Mikey Pitts, Kayla and Sam Nixon; and great grandbaby, Kailee Pitts; his sister, Maryann Grace and an extended family at Merridia Point Apartments; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services were privately held in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Thursday, June 15, 2017, he was cremated after. Ron's family will hold a gathering to celebrate his life at a later date.
