Also, one very special little girl, Payton Rose Lough, his granddaughter and pride and joy.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Lucy Oldland and paternal grandparents, Hansford and Ida Lough; his loving niece, Stacy Halbrook, of Reading, Pa.
Rodd was born on October 1, 1964 in Uniontown, PA to parents Nancy Lough and Richard Lough. He attended Laurel Highlands High School. He became a truck driver by trade and worked for multiple companies all of which helped him in becoming his own owner-operator. He then passed his EMT and Paramedic training and worked for Fayette EMS and Uniontown Hospital ED for 15 years. In 2015, he started PRL Transportation, fittingly named after his granddaughter and drove truck for another year.
Rodd was a great family man and a loving father. He married the love of his life, Judy, in June of 1985 and the couple had one child together.
Rodd was a social, active man who was deeply involved in volunteer firefighting with Hopwood Volunteer Fire Department and North Union Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed driving truck, hunting, and spending quality time with his beautiful granddaughter. His family and friends will always remember him as a caring, fun loving, and a giving individual.
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext, Uniontown, Pa. on Wednesday, August 23, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.; and on Thursday, August 24 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. , the Hour of Service, with Pastor Yves Monnier officiating. The interment services with Hopwood VFD in attendance will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, with a reception to follow.
