Obituary

Robert "Mark" Allen, 78, of Connellsville, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025, with family by his side. He was born Wednesday, October 30, 1946, in Connellsville, PA a son of the late George and Anna (DeMarco) Allen.  In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by 1 sister.

Mark proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his time in the Army, he began driving tractor trailer and this would become his primary occupation through his life. From "bootlegging" Coors Light from out west to seeing just about every harbor on the east coast, he got to see much of the country from the view of the cab and he truly enjoyed what he did. He had worked for and leased to many local trucking companies over the years and at one point he owned and operated his own business, MarSan Trucking, with his wife, Sandi.

He was a man of few words, but his character spoke more than words ever could. He loved animals, except for cats, which he would tolerate, but he always seemed to develop strong bonds with animals in a short time. He will be deeply missed by his buddy, Enzo, and the neighborhood dogs will certainly miss the treats in his shirt pocket. Above all, Mark was a family man. He loved the time spent with his kids, grandkids, and especially his great grandkids. He will be deeply missed by many.

Left to cherish his memory are, his wife of 47 years, Sandi Allen; his son, David Comfort, and wife, Christina, and his daughter, Luanne Brownfield; his grandchildren, Geoff Richter, and wife, Trisha, Kyle Richter, and wife, Lindsay, David Veronesi, Dillon Dahan, and fiancé, Jasmine, Alexa Comfort, and Garry Richter, and wife, Tina; his great grandchildren, Gage, Kyra, Gavin, and Chloe; his niece and "Favorite", Noelle Welsh; his 6 brothers and 1 sister; and many more extended family members and friends.

Mark's family would like to extend specials thanks to neighbors, Jamal Straughters and Gretchen Rumbaugh, for everything that they have done and the help they have provided over the past few years. Also, thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, and staff of Westmoreland Hospital.

Funeral Services were privately held under the direction of the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, 15401.
