Richard J. Voyten, 78 of Uniontown, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Uniontown Health Care Center. He was born on August 6, 1938 in Mount Pleasant, PA, son of the late Michael F. and Adelaide (Yancosky) Voyten.

Richard was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, PA. He enjoyed cooking, and over the years served as a cook for various care institutions.

He is survived by two brothers and a sister, Michael J. Voyten, Jr. and fiance Janet "I." Gabelt of Connellsville, PA, Robert Voyten and wife Leah of Uniontown, PA, Dorothy Ann Ricketts and husband Ronald of Richmond, VA; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and their families.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 180 Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, PA. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hopwood, PA.

In lieu of other tributes, the family asks that contributions in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society, or charity of your choice.
