Richard A. "RAB" Budner, age 77, of Uniontown, PA, died peacefully at home on Friday, February 25, 2011. He was born on July 18, 1933 in Uniontown, PA, son of Steve and Sophie (Wasko) Budner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Myrna (Freeman) Budner, sisters, Elizabeth Olesh, Verna Wilk, Maryanne Sumego, and a brother Rudy Budner.
Richard was a member of St. Procopius Roman Catholic Church, New Salem, PA. He was a retired coal miner, and longtime carpenter. After retirement, he bartended at the American Legion Post 423 and the Pal's Club for many years. He was an active social member of the American Legion Post 423, Pal's Club, VFW Post 4584, and VFW Post 47.
He was a very kind and generous man, who will be deeply missed by his family and many, many, friends.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Stephen R. Budner, at home; brothers and sisters, Edward Budner of Washington, PA; Irene McManus and husband Bernard of Duquesne, PA, John Budner and wife Harriet of Cleveland, OH; and William Budner and wife Judy of St. Louis, MO; many nieces and nephews, and very special friend, Marie (Marovic) Renocks of Masontown, PA.
Friends will be received in the Haky Funeral Home, Inc, 515 North Main St., Masontown, PA. on Monday, February 28, from 2 -8 p.m.; and on Tuesday, March 1, until 9:15 a.m., when prayers will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Procopius Roman Catholic Church, New Salem, PA, with Rev. Father Peter Peretti as Celebrant.
Interment will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery, Brier Hill, PA.
The Parish Wake Service will be held on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m.
