Obituary

Ralphline Theresa DeRosa, 100 of Smithfield, Pa., passed away on Friday September 14, 2012.

She was born December 19, 1911 in Point Marion, Pa., a daughter of Fernando and Josephine (DeLuca) Jordan.

She was a member of Saints Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church, Fairchance, PA and the former St. Helen Chapel in Shoaf, where she served as President of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers for over 22 years, she and her husband owned Prince's Inn Tavern in Woodside & DeRosa's Beer Distributor, she was a well known baker especially for weddings, was very active in the community, helped many charitable organizations and was the Clerk of registration at election.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Giuseppe DeRosa, brothers Augie Jordan, Joe Jordan, sisters Florence Mazzotti, Frances DeFazio, Theresa Jordan, Anita Deemer, son in-law William Moats and many nieces and nephews.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Rose Marie Shankle and her husband Derrell, Joanne Moats, Anita Louise Porco and her husband Frank, grandchildren William Joseph Moats, Joanne Patterson, Lori Anne Dera, great grandchildren Melissa Moats, Austin Moats, Torie Dera, Jensen Dera, she is survived by many nieces, nephews.

Friends will be received at the Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 515 N. Main St., Masontown, PA, today from 3-6 p.m. and on Monday September 17, 2012 until 10:30 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in Saints Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church, Fairchance, PA., .with Fr. Andrew M. Kawecki as Celebrant.

Parish Vigil service will be held today at 5:45 p.m., followed by the Confraternity of Christian Mothers reciting the rosary.

Private interment will be held in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion, PA.

In Lieu of flowers, Contributions can be made to the DeRosa Caregiver Fund at the United Bank, 69 Main Street, Smithfield, PA 15478 to be used to provide care giving services for elderly members of Saints Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church, Fairchance, PA
