Obituary

Playford "Gail" Hileman, age 85, of Hopwood, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday June 19, 2014, at home, with his loving family at his side. He was born in Uniontown, PA the son of the late Clyde and Emma (Harshbarger) Hileman.

Gail worked as a carpenter all of his life. One of his favorite verses was Hebrews 3:4 "For every house is built by some man; but he who built all things is God". He first began working with his dad, then Henry Kisner of Morgantown, and he completed his 50 year plus career with Wayne Long Construction. For the last several years Gail and his wife had been attending the Hopwood Free Methodist Church. He is also a former, 60 year, member of the Grace Brethren Church of Uniontown PA, where he served as head usher, sang in the choir, and also served as the financial secretary for 30 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he enjoyed raising vegetables in his garden.

He served in the Korean Conflict where he performed Morse code, and was witness to the detonation of the first Hydrogen Bomb and many Atomic Bombs on Enewetak Island.

In addition to his parents Gail was preceded in death by his brother Charles Hileman.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Geraldine Hileman; children, Tami Lynn Miskanin and husband Mike, Terah Lee Reed and husband Steven; grandchildren, Mirelle Spector and husband Michael, Teal Messner, Garrett Reed, Savannah Reed, Adelyn Reed; great-grandchildren, Brighten Spector and Karis Spector; and many nieces and nephews.
