Phyliss B. (Lescar) Churilla, 76, of Uniontown, PA, died on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at UPMC Montifiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
She was born on September 3, 1937 in York Run, PA, daughter of Michael E. and Mary (Hornsby) Lescar. Her parents, and an infant brother Conrad preceded her in death.
Phyliss was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church. She was a member and volunteer for the American Heart Association, member of the Uniontown Hospital Auxiliary, and volunteer for the Uniontown Service League. She loved to travel, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Her fun loving and spirited nature will always be remembered, and deeply missed by her many friends and her family.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 54 years, James E. Churilla, Sr.; their children, son, James E. Churilla, Jr. and wife Brenda of Morgantown, WV; and daughter, Janelle Churilla-Saiz and husband Steve of Fort Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Chelsea Churilla and Philip Churilla; a sister, Marlene Maraugha of Toledo, OH; and a brother, Larry Lescar and wife Paula of Smith Mt. Lake, VA; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her "grand-puppies" Emilio and Gia.
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA. on Wednesday, October 16, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; and on Thursday, October 17, until 9:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, PA, with Msgr. Michael W. Matusak as Celebrant.
Entombment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
The Parish Wake Service will be held on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
