Mr. Phillip M. Cecchini, Sr., 80, of Uniontown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7th, 2024 at the Monarch Meadow Personal Care Home.
He was born in Oliver on April 23rd, 1943 to the late Phillip and Lucy Bevilacqua Cecchini.
Phil graduated from North Union High School with the class of 1962.
He married Mary Ann Karwatske, his one and only love, on October 10th, 1964 at St. Therese Church where Phil was a lifetime member.
Phil was employed at Economy Furnace for 44 years, where he started at age 18. Phil was an expert in his field, and often took phone calls from other heating and cooling mechanics to lend his advice.
Phil's passionate hobbies included grouse and deer hunting. He was a member of the Amend Gun Club and the Masontown Fish and Game Club. Phil's favorite times were Sunday spaghetti dinners with his family.
Phil was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, National Guard Reserves, where he served from 1964-1970.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann; daughter, Mia Shaffer and husband Jim of Smithfield; son, Phillip Cecchini, Jr. and wife Tammy of Oliver; five grandchildren, Jessi, Jimmy, Mandy and fiancé Parker, Charity and Phillip; his siblings, Fran Orsini, Margaret Trincia, Aurelio Cecchini and wife Bertha, and Angelo Cecchini and wife Gloria, all of Uniontown – who will deeply miss him as he was their baby brother.
"Uncle Jr." also had a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish the memories of the many summer cookouts and holiday dinners that himself, Mary Ann and Nona would host at their home.
Friends and family are invited to gather at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401 on Sunday, March 10th from 2 to 5 PM. Prayers of transfer at the funeral home will be held at 9:15 AM on Monday, March 11th with a mass of Christian burial to follow at St. Therese Church, 61 Mill Street, Uniontown, PA 15401 at 10 AM.
Interment is in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the very caring staff at Monarch Meadow Personal Care Home, the Hospice Team and nurse Logan and his granddaughter, Charity and niece, Marla for the care and compassion given to Phil.
