Paul Anthony Solesky, 76, of Lemont Furnace, PA, died on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born on May 17, 1938 in Uniontown, PA, son of Steve and Mary (Bandrofcheck) Solesky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years Barbara A. Bodnar Solesky, and his sister Kathryn Sofish.
He is survived by two sons, Mark Anthony Solesky, B.S. Administration of Justice, LPN, RN, and Craig Bodnar Solesky, B.S. Liberal Arts and Sciences, both residents of Lemont Furnace; and a brother John Solesky and wife Sandy of Scottdale, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
Paul was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He was employed as a Data Processor with Robert Shaw Corp., and later Modulus Corp. of Mt. Pleasant and Connecticut. He retired from West Virginia University where he worked with business language software.
Paul was an avid golfer, and after retirement enjoyed bowling with his friends. He also enjoyed gardening, and was a great fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers as well as the Penguins, and the Pirates. He also was a member of the Army Reserve.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Sunday, March 29 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; and on Monday March 30 until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be held.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 N. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti as Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
The Parish Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 6:30 pm.
