Nellie V Shaffer's Obituary
Nellie V. Shaffer, age 70, of Hopwood, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Washington Hospital, Washington, PA.
She was born on June 15, 1941 in Carmichaels, PA., daughter of the late Samuel Shields Barr and Alma (Cunningham) Barr. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald O. Shaffer; and a brother, Frank Barr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Pam Burnworth, April Shaffer, Karl Shaffer, Earl Shaffer, and Holly Price; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers, and one sister. Nellie will also be remembered by close friends Donna and Jim Goodman, and Karen and Barry Assad.
Nellie was homemaker and the best mother that she could have been to her children.
The family will receive friends at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc. on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, and Wednesday, November 23 until 10:00 AM when a service will be held at the funeral home chapel, officiated by Pastor Randy Costolo.
Interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery.
