Obituary

Michael P. Shotter, age 89, of Hopwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, with his loving family by his side. He was born on September 28, 1926, a son of Paul and Catherine (Styna) Shotter.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack, Paul, Andrew, John and his sisters, Jean and Katherine.

Michael was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He and his wife spent many years in Florida where they loved to play shuffleboard; he was a Shuffleboard Pro, and is recognized in the Shuffleboard Hall of Fame in Orlando Florida. He also enjoyed watching the spring training camps for MLB in Florida. He was an avid fiddler and loved to garden.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Ann (Kraynak) Shotter, children, Michael Shotter Jr. and his fianc Mary Nguyen, Kathleen Sumego and her husband Edward Sr., Larry J. Shotter and his wife Rosalie, Timothy A. Shotter and his wife Yuriko, grandchildren, Melanie Wass and her husband James and their children Matthew, Karly, Adam and Ryan, Lawrence Shotter Jr., and his fianc Katie Sandell, Edward Sumego Jr., and his wife Heather and their children Abigail and Ethan, Angela Landrin and her husband Adam and their children Ian and Olivia, David Sumego and his wife Jessica, and their children, Allen, Christopher, and Emma; Michael is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc. 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa. Friday November 20, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., and on Saturday November 21, 2015 until 9:30 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Peter Peretti as Celebrant.

Entombment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa. Where military honors will be accorded by the AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood.

A Parish Wake Service will be held Friday at 3 PM
