Maxine M. Mlinarcik, age 95, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away peacefully on Monday June 8, 2015.
She was born on December 22, 1919 in Uniontown, Pa., a daughter of William Andrew and Anna (Ludwig) Musser.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Mlinarcik Sr., son Thomas Mlinarcik at 15 months in 1953, parents William Andrew and Anna (Ludwig) Musser whom also passed away when she was 95 years old.
She graduated from South Union High School class of 1937 and attended Hunters College in New York during her WAVES training, was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church; (WAVES) Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service., a unit of the U.S. Naval Reserve., stationed in Washington, D.C., and The Catholic War Veterans.
She liked to travel, especially to Rehoboth Beach in Delaware enjoying Grotto's pizza on the boardwalk with her family, she was an avid reader and enjoyed history, listening to books on tape as her vision failed, as a young mother she loved gardening and was a talented seamstress making many of her daughters Easter outfits.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joseph F. Mlinarcik Jr., and his wife Mary, William J. Mlinarcik, Mary Ann Mlinarcik, Jane Sawka, Catherine Mitchell, Richard D. Mlinarcik and his wife Lisa, grandchildren; Joseph F. Mlinarcik III and his wife Stephanie, Jarrod M. Mlinarcik and his wife Erin, Stephen Sawka II. and Ashley, Zachary C. Sawka and his wife Natalia, Cory M. Sawka and his wife Michelle, Kimberly Brooke and her husband Patrick, Melissa Mitchell, Hayley Mlinarcik, John Mlinarcik, great grandchildren; Jacob Mlinarcik, Alexis Mlinarcik, Andrew Mlinarcik, Elle Mlinarcik, Caleb Sawka, Cohen Brooke, Lucas Brooke and Samuel Joseph Mitchell.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc. 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa. Friday June 12, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m., and on Saturday June 13, 2015 until 9:30 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Peter Peretti as Celebrant.
A Parish Wake Service will be held Friday June 12, 2015 at 3 PM.
Interment will follow in Mount Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, PA., Where military honors will be accorded by the North Union VFW Post 8543 and V.V. I. of Fayette County
