Maryann Lindsay (Shaffer)'s Obituary
On Thursday, July 7, 2016 MaryAnn Shaffer Lindsay, 65, lost her battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord. She was born April 19, 1951, in Uniontown, PA, daughter of Henry Shaffer and Margaret D. (Novotny) Shaffer.
MaryAnn was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, in Uniontown. She graduated from Laurel Highlands High School (North Union) Class of 1969. She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed going to bingo and looked forward to monthly bus trips to the casino.
In addition to her parents, MaryAnn was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her loving husband, of 44 years, Robert Lindsay; and her daughter, Rachel Lindsay of Uniontown, PA. She had many close friends, who were more like family, and she will be greatly missed by all. MaryAnn also leaves behind her cat, Daisy, who she loved dearly.
Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home Inc. 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Ext., Uniontown, PA, 15401, on Monday, July 11, from 2-8 p.m. and on Tuesday, July 12, until 12:30 p.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 N. Mount Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti as Celebrant.
Interment Services will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
The Parish Wake Service will be held Monday, at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
