Maryann (Posinak) Nicholson, 66 of Uniontown, Pa., passed away suddenly and quietly at her home on Saturday, September 8, 2018. She was born in Connellsville, on March 13, 1952, daughter of Matthew and Mary (Delivuk) Posinak. Her parents and brother Mark preceded her in death.

Maryann was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, and member of the Croatian Fraternal Union. She shared a great appreciation for Polka music with her family, and looked forward to the Polka Festival at Seven Springs Mountain Resort every year with her daughter Cherie, her best friend. Her joy in life was her grandson Reno Matthew, who was the light of her life, and deepest love. Her "sparkle" will be deeply missed.

She leaves behind her loving daughters, Heather Kasovich and husband Bill of Grindstone; Cherie Smith and husband Brent of Uniontown; grandson, Reno Matthew Smith; and her former husband who was also her close friend, Danny Nicholson.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Pa. on Tuesday, September 11 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.; and on Wednesday, September 12, when Prayers of Transfer will be said at 10 a.m.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 N. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, Pa., with Rev. Father Anthony J. Klimko as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.

The Parish Wake Service led by the Lazarus Ministry will be held  Tuesday 3 p.m.
