Mary Lou Swallop, 88, of Lemont Furnace, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026 at the Uniontown Hospital.

She was born in Lemont Furnace on July 20, 1937 to that late Mike and Mary Little Cronin.

Mary Lou was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church.

She married Kenneth E. Swallop, Sr. on December 23, 1961.  He preceded her in death on February 20, 2016.

She was a devoted, loving wife, mother, mother-in-law; and a loving grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, and sister-in-law.  She greatly enjoyed making her home a place of comfort and happiness. Mary Lou only had kind words to say about everyone, and had a generous heart.

She is survived by a granddaughter, Kalynn Henry of Lemont Furnace; great granddaughter, Karsynn; a daughter in law, Terie Swallop of New Salem; a brother, Donald "Louie" Cronin and wife Brenda of Cleveland, OH;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth E. "Kenny" Swallop, Jr.; and eight siblings, Katherine Sileo, Michael Cronin, Ray Cronin, John Cronin, Margaret "Peggy" Newcomer-Bubash, James Cronin, Gerald "Jerry" Cronin, and Evelyn Villari.

Visitation for Mary Lou will be at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401 on Wednesday, January 21st from 3 to 4:30 PM, at which time a service will be held.

Entombment is in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
