Obituary

Mary A. (Olear) Senker, 91, of Smock, Pa., passed away peacefully at the Cherry Tree Nursing Facility on Saturday, October 27, 2012.

She was born January 31, 1921 in Maxwell, Pa., the daughter of the late Mary Bartos Olear of Smock (1927) and the late Thomas Olear of Smock (1972).

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years Michael J. Senker (2008) two daughters Diane Senker (1965) Theresa Modispaw (2008)

Mary was a lifelong member of St. Hedwig Church in Smock, Pa; and a member of the Christians Mothers, the Rosary Society, and the ladies of Charity; she also belonged to the Smock Historical Society.

Blessed to cherish her memory are her daughters Marian Materkowski and her husband Edward and Monica Yuhas and her husband Edward, Gram will be greatly missed by her loving grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony, Stephen and Mary Katherine Materkowski, Maureen, Angela and Diane Modispaw; Michael Modispaw and wife Jessica; Jessica Yuhas Cala and Adam Yuhas.

Family and Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA Sunday October 28, 2012 from 3-8 p.m; and on Monday October 29, 2012 until 1 p.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.

A mass of Christian burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, Smock, PA. with Father James F. Petrovsky as Celebrant.

Interment will be held in St. Hedwig Cemetery Smock, PA.

A special thank you to all the Cherry Tree Nursing Facility who cared for Mary with utmost dignity and compassion, including all of the friends she made there, especially Angela, Emma, Frank, Gladys, Glenn, Jenny, Nancy, Robert and her special guardian angel Gertie.

Our family and friends mourn Mary's death but celebrate the beautiful example of her humble life.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mary's memory to St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, Smock, PA.
