Mary Jean Roddy, 83, of Uniontown, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Laurel Ridge Skilled Nursing in Uniontown.

She was born in Uniontown on July 9, 1942 to the late Mary Ann Rabatin.

Mary Jean graduated from North Union High School.

She married her beloved husband of over fifty years, Jeffries S. Roddy; he preceded her in death on April 27, 2012.

Mary Jean was a devout member of St. Mary Nativity Church.

She enjoyed running and walking with friends.  She also enjoyed cooking and baking, especially dishes in her Slovak heritage.

Mary Jean is survived by three children, Della Ruddy of Baltimore, MD, Jeffrey Roddy and wife Theresa Brouse of Mount Airy, MD, and Matthew Roddy of Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren, Mary Ann Conway, Stacy Theilin and husband Christopher, Allison Ruddy, Kayla Roddy and husband Matthys Pretorius, Daniel Brouse, Lucy Brouse, Hannah Roddy, and Elijah Roddy; a great-grandson, Maxwell Conway; and several close friends and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Thomas Ruddy.

Visitation for Mary Jean will be held at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401 on Wednesday, December 17th from 4 to 7 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, December 18th at 10 AM at St. Mary Nativity Church, 61 N. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA 15401.

Interment is in Mt. St. Macrina Cemetery.
