Mary (Bena) Perruzza, age 89, formerly of Springfield Virginia, and Sarasota, Florida, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2010 at the Uniontown Hospital.

She was born on October 6, 1921 in York Run, PA, a daughter of Paul and Barbara (Simonak) Bena.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John Perruzza in 2005; a brother Paul Bena in 1977; a niece Kathleen Haragos Over; a brother-in-law Andrew N. Zorichak; and a sister-in-law Esther Bena.

Mary was formerly a member of Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church. She was a wonderful wife, sister, and aunt, and an excellent cook. In her leisure time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading books. She loved to travel and go on ocean cruises; and leaves behind many treasured memories of beach vacations and special times spent with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.

Surviving are two sisters and a brother, Anna Bena Haragos and husband Joseph, and Kathryn Bena Zorichak, all of Uniontown, PA; and Fred Bena and wife Bonnie of Fairfax, VA; a sister-in-law, Josephine Elling of Massachusetts; and numerous dear nieces and nephews and their families.



Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA on Thursday, December 2, from 3-8 p.m.; and on Friday, December 3, 2010 until 8:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9 a.m. in Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father James Clark as Celebrant.

Interment will be held at Saint Mary (Nativity) Cemetery, Uniontown, PA

The Parish Wake Service will be held on Thursday at 4 p.m.
