Mary Elizabeth Bierbower, 86, of Hopwood, PA, died on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Uniontown Hospital. She was born on April 12, 1927 in Alicia, PA, daughter of Joseph and Katerina Majnaric.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, step-father John Bahat, husband Edwin Ray Bierbower in 2010, infant grandson Robert Andrew Sholtis, brothers William Majnaric, and Edward Minerich. She was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, PA.

She is survived by her loving children, Donna Sholtis and husband Andrew of Uniontown, PA, John Bierbower and wife Barb of Latrobe, PA, Mark Bierbower and wife Ellen of Kane, PA, and Sue Koleck and husband Lou of Uniontown, PA; eight grandchildren, K'Lynn Larson, Brennen Bierbower, Andrea Sholtis, Maria Sholtis, Ray Bierbower, Rich Bierbower, Chris Bierbower, and Katie Ramsay; and two great grandchildren, Owen Larson and Grace Bierbower.

Special thanks to the nursing staff and physical therapists at Mt. Macrina Manor for the wonderful care given to our mother during her short stay.

Also, special thanks to Uniontown Hospital 4th floor east nursing staff and Amedysis Hospice staff for the care given to our mother, and the kindness extended to our family during this past week.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA on Friday, November 8, 1-4 and 7-9 p.m.; and on Saturday November 9, until 9:15 a.m. for a prelude of hymns. Prayers of Transfer will be said at 9:30 a.m.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 N. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti as Celebrant.

Entombment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery Mausoleum, Uniontown, PA.

The Parish Wake Service will be held on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
