Obituary

Our wonderful mother, Mary Ann (Marian) Porachan Kufrin passed away on Tuesday, December 5th, 2017 in Weston, Florida where she resided for over 4 years.

She was born in Uniontown, PA on August 23rd, 1930. She was 87 years old.

She graduated from Uniontown, High School in 1948. She was the co-owner with her husband, Arnold, of Arnold's Appliance Parts Company, Inc.

She has two daughters, Arna Lee Kufrin of Uniontown, PA, and Darlene Sholtis of Weston, Florida.

She was a Life Master in Duplicate Bridge and a member of the Tri State Bridge League. She was a member of the Uniontown Country Club.

Marian was a very religious woman and a devoted Catholic. She had a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and she was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, PA.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arnold Kufrin, and her infant son, Mark, her mother, Josephine Stefanko Porachan, and her father Matthew Porachan; and the following siblings: Eleanor Kokiko; Steve Chatlas; Margaret Sappe; Joseph, Michael, Charles, and Edward Porachan.

Left behind to cherish her memories are her daughters, Arna Lee and Darlene; son-in-law Ted, and granddaughters Ashley, Lindsay (Richie), and her sister-in-law Jackie Porachan, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Our Mother was a strong woman. She never gave up! She had a zest and passion for life. She loved life and she loved to laugh. She loved animals and always had pets. She was also an advocate lending her voice so they could be heard.

Our Mom will always be remembered for her award winning smile and her kind, loving and generous heart. Mom will be flying in from Florida for her visitation and celebration of her life.

Friends will be received on Friday, December 15th, 2017 at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM; and on Saturday, December 16th until 9:15 AM when prayers of transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, PA.

Interment will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery where she will rest beside her beloved husband Arnold.
