Obituary

Mary "Thelma" (Horwat) Kaider, age 86, of Lemont Furnace, PA, was called home to be with Jesus on Thursday, October 20, 2011. She was originally a resident of Uledi.

She was born on September 20, 1925 in Jamison Works, PA, daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Chewa) Horwat.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Ralph Robert Reckner; second husband Stanley Thomas Kaider; three children, Robert Lee Reckner, Clifford Donald Reckner, and Richard Eugene Reckner; and ten brothers and sisters, Steve Horwat, Rose Kurentus, Joseph Horwat, Alec Horwat, Louis Horwat, Julia Miklusak, Elizabeth Pyle, Margaret Thomas, Irene Gaffee and sister Vilma Nandor.

She leaves behind five children, Thomas E. Reckner, Sr. and wife Joann, with whom she made her home in Lemont Furnace; William D. Reckner, Sr. of Playford, PA; Mary Dorothy Hoffman and husband Jeffrey of Monessen, PA; Betty G. Mosco and husband Tony of Scottdale, PA; and Wilma May Moore and husband Mike of Masontown, PA;

22 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; a brother, Frank Horwat of Akron, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews, and their families.

She was member of St. Anthony Friary, and had attended St. Therese R.C. Church, and St. Joseph R.C. Church; member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and St. Anthony Friary Auxiliary.

She retired from the former Fayette County Home after many years on the Housekeeping and Maintenance staff. She loved watching "Westerns" on TV with her family, and playing Bingo.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Peroni's Personal Care Home for their wonderful, compassionate care.

Friends will be received in the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, PA, this evening, Sunday, October 23, from 7-9 p.m; Monday, October 24, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.; and on Tuesday, October 25 until 10 a.m.

A Blessing Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, with Rev. Father James Clark Officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hopwood, PA.
