IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Ann
Carolla
February 29, 1932 – February 10, 2024
Mary Ann Papincak Carolla went to be with our Lord on Saturday February 10, 2024 at the age of 91. She was a leap year baby so she was just shy of her 92nd birthday...actually her 23rd! She was born on February 29, 1932 in Smock, Pennsylvania and was a graduate of Uniontown High School. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband Alfonso D. Carolla on February 18, 1998, parents Theresa Tokar Papincak Olear, Peter Papincak, and Andrew Olear, brothers Joseph Papincak (Mary, Larry), John Papincak (Dolores) and Michael Papincak (Rosalie). Nephew Rodney Teets and niece Andrea Papincak. Left to cherish Mary's memory are her children Alfonso Daniel Carolla II, wife Debbie and sons Daniel (Ashlee) and Jonathon (Jillian, Isaiah, Samuel Luke and Emilee Looney), Sheila Carolla Peters and husband George and Laura Carolla and son Vincent. Brother George Papincak, his wife Helen and son Steven as well as many other nieces and nephews. Mary enjoyed gardening, birdwatching and taking care of her indoor and outdoor cats. Her flea market finds were legendary and she loved using every piece of glassware and decor when she did her seasonal decorating. A hobby that she passed down to her daughters. She was a member of the St. Therese RC church altar society and a longtime volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul. She retired as office manager of the North Fayette County Municipal Authority. Mom will be sadly missed by her family and we are so happy that she left us with so many wonderful memories to cherish. She taught us how to be resourceful, hardworking and most of all how to enjoy time spent with family. We will look back fondly on those days spent canning tomatoes in the summer, making ravioli for the holidays, embarking on marathon decorating adventures and tending to all of those flowers that she loved so much. The family extends a special thank you to caregivers Carolyn, Kenny, Cheryl and Amedisys Hospice and neighbors Mike, Diane, Pat and Marlys. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St. Vincent DePaul, 70 N. Mount Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA 15401. Arrangements by Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Ext. Uniontown, PA 15401 Funeral Mass and Committal Service will be held at 10:00AM on February 29, 2024 at St. Therese RC Church, 61 Mill Street, Uniontown, PA 15401.
