Martin Perkins, age 88, of Uniontown, PA., passed away at his home, on Sunday, September 29, 2013. Martin was born on August 17, 1925, in Uniontown, he was the son of the late William Perkins and Ethel (Hoak) Perkins.
Martin was Protestant by faith, a member of New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene. He retired from Penn Central Railroad after 28 years and from Laurel Highlands School District after 16 years. Martin served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a veteran of WWII, member of the American Legion, AMVETS and the Hutchinson Sportsman Club.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 54 years Audrey Perkins. He is survived by four children, Jean Crawford, Betty Anielski, James Perkins, and Judy Collins; ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and his special companion of the last 11 years Mirielle Pierno
Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 1-8 PM, and Thursday, October 3 until 11:00AM., the Hour of Service, with Pastor Mark Lawson officiating.
Interment will immediately follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
