Obituary

Marlene Theresa (Fornili) Marotto, age 78, of Uniontown, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, March 7, 2015 with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 14, 1936 in Uniontown, a daughter of the late Harry A. and Francis (Fee) Fornili.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry A. Fornili Jr.; her sister, Francis Elaine (Fornili) Davis; and a nephew, Dr. Gary K. Davis, DO.

Marlene was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown. She graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1958, as a Registered Nurse, she then became the Lead Nurse in the Uniontown Hospital Operating Room. In 1968 she graduated from California State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, and then earned a Masters Degree in Education at West Virginia University.

Marlene taught second grade at the Gallatin Grade School. She was a School Nurse for the Uniontown Area School district. She also taught in the Intermediate Unit (I.U.) at Menallen Grade School from which she retired.

Left to cherish her memory, are her husband, Angelo J. Marotto of Millville, PA; her only daughter, Theresa L. Marotto; and grandsons, Santo A. Piccolomini and Mario A. Piccolomini, all of Uniontown; and cousin Dr. William Shepard VMD of Uniontown.

Friends will be received at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, Inc., 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext, Uniontown, PA., on Tuesday March 10, 2015 from 9-10 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

The funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m., in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 50 Jefferson Street, Uniontown, PA 15401, with Rev. Father James D. Tringhese as Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Mount Saint Macrina Cemetery Uniontown, PA.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. John the Evangelist Regional Catholic School.
